‘Greenhouses’ is an offshoot from the body of work ‘Plants of the Tropical Ravine’ (see works). During the restoration of Belfast’s Tropical Ravine the plant collection it housed had to be decanted and temporarily rehoused into suitable alternative accommodation for 18 months. The temporary housing was to be in the Botanic Gardens propagating greenhouses situated a stone’s throw from Ravine. Some of the greenhouses were used to a greater extent than others, which can be seen from the selection of photographs below.
